The houses in our historic district are usually heavily decorated for Halloween. I took a walk around those streets this morning - many owners were still busy decorating and getting ready for the crowds tonight (they get hundreds of trick-or-treaters).
There were huge spiders,
sinister folks
and flying witches.
Gravesites in front of the houses
and rather spooky companions.
I liked Farmer Eric:
and all the beautiful pumpkins.
This one didn't feel so good...
Some of the fall decoration blew me away:
And then I discovered this - my favorite:
On my way back home I saw this friendly ghost
and realized that our neighborhood had been taken over by vultures.
Happy Halloween from our house to yours!

Thanks for the tour, I liked sickly pumpkin best, though I did feel sorry for him!
Enjoy your celebrations,

What marvellous photography Carola, and how wonderful thatyour community does so much work for Hallowe'en. It's not big enough here, but I absolutely love the variations of the pumpkin carving.
Oh, Carola, these are GREAT!!!! How fun - our neighborhood does not do that at all. I especially love the poor pumpkin who apparently ate too much candy (at least that's what people can tell their kids!!)ha ha. Have a safe and happy Halloween!!!!!
Carola, it is a real toss up about which is more fantastic, the neighborhood decorations or your photos of them all! Your photos are just fabulous, especially the one of the house with the red front complete with black spider sitting there, and the sun's reflection shining through the decoration in the dormer! It could win a photo contest, it is that great. I would love to see houses decorated like that here. Halloween has gotten really big here over the years and many houses do decorate with pumpkins annd such, but no one goes all out like the homes in the USA. Golly, how I miss it all!! Thank you so much for taking us all on such a lovely tour of your area.
wishing you and yours a very HAPPY HALLOWEEN and I hope you are having a spooktacular night.

Such a beautiful Halloween neighbourhood Carola. I bet the children will have quite a spooky time ;-)
Happy Halloween to you and yours too
The vulture and the little rusty bat are my favorites! What a fun collection of images!
Hey Carola, I love your neighborhood!
Such great images!
These are awesome. We had a really fun time in our halloween-y neighborhood.

Da gings ja richtig rund in eurer Nachbarschaft. Tolle Dekorationen! Die genial geschnitzten Kürbisse, vor allem der, dem schlecht ist hihihi. Die Spinnen sind auch nicht übel. Uahhhh!

Fabulous photos of all those decorated houses, we are way behind in England but I notice a few more are making the effort to participate. Mainly the homes who have children.
I had about 20 Trick or Treaters around last night which is quite a lot for here! It was good fun and their costumes were wonderful.

very nice Halloween impression
What a wonderful array of Halloween fun. Love the spiders! And some of those pumpkin carvings were works of art. I even like the not so well one! LOL Happy Halloween.
This is fun! We don't celebrate Halloween at all, so it's cool to watch how 'crazy' will go somewhere for Halloween.
Gorgeous. So wonderful Halloween decoration around you. Wonderful !
Wow! Great decorations, and GREAT photos! That first one of the huge spider crawling down over that window actually made me shiver.
Some of these over the top decos made me laugh...those GIANT furry spiders on the roof...omg....some cute carved pumpkins though.
