Leaves, Leaves Everywhere

I tried something new here and used a filter > texture, blending mode multiply at 43%, some levels and hue/saturation adjustment. For Bonnie's Photo Art Friday.

We are having some pretty strong winds here, the air is warmer than over the past few days, the sun is shining out of an incredibly blue sky and there was no fog this morning.

I live in a neighborhood full of lovely deciduous trees. The wind has blown their leaves everywhere, and they cover my yard.

There are leaves in my empty pots,

hanging from the old redwood fence,

lying on some old wood,

fallen to the ground,

cuddling in the abalone shell,

resting on the ivy,

and keeping fresh in the little fountain.

Are there still many leaves in the trees where you live or did you already have the first snow?

Here trees are bare and so is the ground. The air is definitely on the colder side (5C/41F) I am hoping for snow very soon :-)

Your leaves are gorgeous, Carola

We had snow near the end of October, but it didn't last. Since then it's been unusually warm for this time of year. But the leaves are all gone, at least where I live. I enjoyed seeing yours!

Wonderful captures of all the spaces that the leaves have landed! The redwood fence image is my favorite. We've had terrible winds here too, and our beautiful ash tree is stripped of all its yellow glory.

This really captures the individuality of these leaves, and also gives a sense of the last "hangars on" before winter really sets in . Lovely

I especially like the photo with the abalone shell.

I shared your windy day yesterday. I went for my usual morning walk and just about blew over. I kept expecting to be hit by something flying through the air. Today looks calm.

Delightful series here. I love that one lone green leaf in the left corner of your 1st photo.
My favorite photo is the Clay Pot with the leaves. Great work.

Our trees are bare, we had thick fog and its chilly, so looking at your images have bought colour back in to the day, they are beautiful :-)

Most of our trees around here are pretty skeletal. I do like the winter landscape, though.
I love your series here - lovely shots!

the tree outside our condo is still "wearing its leaves" but a lot are decorating the streets & ground. This post reminds me to get outside today & take some pics... perhaps I'll decorate tonight? your leaves are gorgeous!

First time visiting from Photo Art Friday!

Our leaves are just about gone and fall was a little dull here this year. So, I'm enjoying your photos all the more. Isn't it great when nature provides such beautiful arrangements?!

This is exactly what I love about autumn, Carola. Fallen leaves everywhere. Ours are still falling...and no snow yet. We had snow on Christmas day last year but no after that. I hope we can do better this year!

What a fun leaf journey - and reminder of what makes fall so great - there's just color everywhere! Happy PPF (a little late)
