Winter Solstice

Since today is the shortest day of the year, I thought I just post a few snow and frosty pictures - all of them taken in recent years either in Yosemite National Park or back in Germany.

It's sunny and mild here - no sign of winter at all. Not a single rain cloud in the sky... We're still waiting for the rain. Everything is so dry here.

Stunning photos, Carola! It is unseasonably mild here and there is lots of rain forecast. Some snow would be a nice change!

Lovely shots and snow always so lovely and graceful. do you miss the snow this year. We rarely have it in Texas, and I definitely miss it as where I grew up, always a winter filled with this lovely white stuff. Hope you have a lovely christmas!

Such beautiful snow pix, Carola! I do wish we'd get some rain/snow here. Our kids are going up to the mountains next week for skiing -- I don't know if they'll find any snow. Happy Solstice -- I blogged about it too. Wishing you a peaceful and joyful holiday season!

Those photos are truly beautiful. Thank you.
On the other side of the world, we desperately need rain too. Soon.
Have a wonderful, peaceful Christmas.

I have such great longing when I see these images, Carola. I grew up with wonderful winters in Michigan, just as you did in Germany, so I miss them. Who would have known this part of the Netherlands gets about as little snow as Atlanta, Georgia!!! :( (sigh)

Enjoyed your snow pictures since we aren't really having winter as most people do. Well, we did have that cold week or so... that's it.

Wishing you and your family the Happiest of Holidays.
