A Piece of Art

Can you tell what this is?

It is a CPU cooler (a Thermaltake V1) - a fan that can be built into a computer.
The Geek had bought this for the PC and when he took it out of the package I thought how beautiful it looks. So I brought it out on the deck to take some pictures. The warm light of the setting sun was an extra bonus.

This is what the fan looks like:

Isn't it beautiful?
And this beauty will disappear into the depth of a computer...

a shame that such a pretty thing is hidden. Hope you are feeling better & soon able to enjoy the summer with the Geek & your daughter.

Wait. I don't get it. I wish I could get the scale of it. Are these macro shots, Carola? I'm trying to picture this inside a computer. A laptop, too? A fan is so important for our fast processors. But they can get clogged up by dust if we don't watch out.

After I had my laptop maintenaced after it's first year, the technician told me I could put the vacuum hose up to the vents to suck out extra dust that gets in. I do that once a week and hope that will extend the use of my fan. But YOUR shindig here takes the cake!

stunning colours and shapes - I'd happily have that amongst my decorative stuff on my shelves

It is beautiful in more ways than one and you have captured that visually with these images.

I love the last one with the green muted background.

First I thought some sort of altered typewriter, then I wondered inside of a musical instrument...never thought computer part! Amazing and wonderful photos per usual!

Read "the Pact" and really enjoyed it!

Wow, this is a fabulous series of photos!! I love the warm rich colors, and the abstract beauty of it. I would have never guessed what this is. It almost looks like a plant in some ways, or something you'd find from the ocean depths. Very cool, Carola!!
