Our good friends Bim and Patti suggested we accompany them to an open house of a winery up in Cloverdale, the most northern town in our county. Since we weren't familiar with this winery, we happily agreed to go with them. I always enjoy wine tasting with Bim - being a wine maker himself, he is very knowledgeable about wine and the wine making process.
He was very clear about why he went to the open house.
But then we were here for the food as well - they had cheese and charcuterie boards and a food truck served the most delicious pizza I ever ate outside of Italy.
Everything was beautifully decorated.
There were two tasting tables, one with their white wines and the other with the red ones.
An interesting board with all the different clamps and connecting pieces for the fermenting steel tanks you can see behind Bim.
It was such a lovely day, warm and sunny. The wine wasn't too bad either...
I loved the deep color of this Syrah.
Sometimes the Geek is the only guy in a group (we call that "Hahn im Korb", rooster in the basket). He sure enjoys that.
Is there anything better than having a wonderful time with really good friends?
Of course I couldn't leave AI (Gemini) alone... all of these faces are for Nicole's Friday Face Off. Cheers!

...is you ever need a designated driver given me a call. I'll driove for pizza!!!
Ohhhh this looks like a fabulous place. The wind, and the food!!!!! But the best are the wonderful photos with all the smiles. Thank you for sharing with FFO and have a wonderful weekend.
What a fun day spent with good friends, good wine, and good food. You all look very happy!
I'll be Tom's designated copilot driver, but I'll need to at least try a glass of that Syrah with my pizza. Happy FFO!
Fun post!
Beautiful photos, dear Carola. The pizza looks fantastic. What a fantastic time.
This looks like a great day out. The weather looks lovely and being with friends is a wonderful thing. You can't go wrong with those things, can you? Especially if good wine is part of it too. Your deep red Syrah left some lovely shadows on your hands when you held the glasses. And that is a cool photo of all the clamps too. Even your pizza looks tasty. It's hard to beat pizza from Italy too. :) I hope you had a great May 1 and have a super weekend ahead.
That's a great photo of the four of you -- both the original and the AI filtered one!
Nothing goes better than an outing to a winery that has a charcuterie board and great pizza, except sharing it with good friends and on a day with great weather.
The pizza and wine look amazing, but the best part is all the happy smiles in your photos.
What a wonderful day with good friends.
Your photos are beautiful, Carola.
Ooo, what a great program!
I've been to a similar one before, and we bought wine specifically in a wine shop. This is the real deal. :) We were able to choose, and I enjoyed the labels and the sparkle of the bottles too.
Both of your "guys" are very nice, and you ladies are beautiful and cheerful. I like smiles very much.
The pictures are lovely, I really like the close-up picture of the glasses (the toast) and the red wine inside.
I wish you many more such experiences!
Thank you for writing in my blog, I completely agree with you. I confirmed this in my reply. Hugs. Eva
What a wonderful time you all had! But if there is wine and cheese everything else is bound to fall into place. Did you buy a few bottles to take home? It's been a long time since I did a wine tour, so perhaps it's something to think about. Big hugs - David
Such a lovely happy post.
What a wonderful time you had ...great photographs.
All the best Jan
You're right -- nothing is better than good time with good friends, but if you add wine to it, even better. What a great day -- lovely wine and what a delicious spread of cheese and pizza. I'd be in seventh heaven!
This looks like the best time! I love good wine :)
Veo que lo pasaste muy bien, me alegra, con los amigos siempre se pasa genial. Abrazos.
