This photo of a pretty healthy looking coyote I took more than 20 years ago during our first visit to Yellowstone National Park. I've written about coyotes several times on my blog - I just love them and what's more it's my spirit animal. I do feel an affinity to his complex character described in many Native American legends. Once in Yosemite, more than ten years ago, I had a short encounter with a coyote in a moon lit night - I wrote a short piece about it for some creative writing practice. Maybe I will post it here sometime.
But today I don't want to tell a story. Since I can only hobble around and not work in the garden - this ITBS is really painful and very limiting - I have played with AI again. I actually blame Nicole for that! Without having seen her AI creations I might not have tried out the AI feature on my photo app. It's always good when you can blame someone else (some people are real masters in that).
The watercolor feature of the AI possibilites is my prefered one. First try - relatively true to the original picture.
I can try out this feature on the same photo more than once - and I did, because I was curious what else was possible.
This one is beautiful, but a little bit too "pastel" for me. So, another try.
A few flowers are introduced and do you notice how the face of the coyote has changed? It has become a little bit softer. I'm sure he likes the flowers, so let's see whether he can get more flowers in his meadow.
Oh yes! The coyote is smiling! Maybe he's dreaming of chasing butterflies. There must be some butterflies, right?
This last one is my favorite, even though it's completely unrealistic. The coyote looks kind of skeptical as well.
I had fun with this! All these sweet faces are, of course, for Nicole's Friday Face Off.
Another sweet coyote face, also in Yellowstone:

Those are all marvelous variations! (P.S. beep beep!)
...nice edits, but I'll stick with the original!
Herzlichst

Lovely art
I'm so attached to the Trickster, Coyote. These all turned out fabulously. I like the smile on that wily guy. Seriously, a beautiful post. Thank you for sharing with FFO and have a lovely weekend.
Dear Carola, gorgeous photo! and I absolutely love the edits as well!
I like all of your artistic versions of the photo. Coyotes are interesting animals. We have plenty around our farm. They can get quite loud at night.
That AI really creates some fantastic art. I've never tried it, but I'm impressed with the pieces you made. Western coyotes are definitely different from our eastern variety. Ours are bigger since when coyotes moved east they came down through Canada and mated with wolves. They are now quite different. The face of your photos is quite sweet.I can see why you like them. Have a super weekend. hugs-Erika
It’s been a while since I saw a Coyote, Carola, but I am filled with admiration for them. They are resourceful and have overcome every attempt by humans to eradicate them. The woman next door has a little dog that yips incessantly, especially (it seems) when we are sitting out on the patio. Now where’s a good Coyote when you need one? Just sayin’……..big hugs - David
I'm never tried AI art -- what program do you use? Sometimes I think it's easier to create your own (painted) art from a photo that has been manipulated vs. the actual photo -- and I don't know why. You'd think it would be harder. They say we have a coyote in our neighborhood but I've not seen it. This one has a very sweet face!
The AI really did nicely with that photo.. I love the "too pastel" one. It really looks like a watercolor painting.
The AI interpretations turned out wonderfully.
Each one brings a different mood to the coyote.
I especially love the softer, pastel version.
Sorry that ITBS (Iliotibial band syndrome) is still very painful and limiting ... be patient, concentrate on the exercises (I'm sure you have been given) and feel better soon.
I did enjoy seeing your AI images.
Sending good wishes and wishing you ...
All the best Jan
Siento lo de tus piernas, espero que pronto estés bien. Se ve bonito el coyote, me gusta. Besos.
Carola, sorry to read that you are still in much discomfort, but as I am late in blog reading, hope that you are feeling better. I have never used AI to enhance images, but seeing these variations of your original photo has made me think it might be worth exploring one day.
