This is the last Scene & Story, hosted by Sarah and León. It was a year long photo project that I actually did from start to finish, a first for me. Usually I run out of "fuel" after a certain time, but since this was only once a month and gave me the opportunity to review my photos it was a project I thoroughly enjoyed and never got tired of. Thank you to both of you for this wonderful link-up.
This view of Putah Creek along CA Highway 128 made the cut for the month of December, taken with my phone. Since I saw this particular scenery the first time I wanted to take a photo of it, but never did - until that Sunday last December when I finally stopped the car by the side of the road, hopped out and took the photo. I had my "real" camera with me as well and took some more shots with it, but this image is the chosen one. I love that even in December there is so much color to find in nature here in Northern California. It was a beautiful winter day, sunny with temperatures in the 50s and I was on my way to Davis to pick up Kaefer for winter break. There are several routes to choose from and since it was such a splendid day I took the back roads through the hilly part of Napa County. It's my favorite road to Davis, free of any heavy traffic and through some absolutely stunning scenery (I should write an entire post with pictures just about this). The road is curvy, very steep in parts and flattens out in the plains at the edge of the Central Valley. When I took this photo I felt so happy because I was on my way to pick up my favorite girl and spend a bit more than two weeks with her. Oh Bliss. (She's back now and I feel quite the opposite.)
Here is the last link-up for Scene & Story.

What a gorgeous view. I would love to see a whole post on this drive. In fact it would be fun for all of us to pick a favorite drive and share photos from it. Thank you so much for joining us this year, it has been a pleasure to host this adventure.
We take the back roads when we can too. Often beautiful, and less other travellers.
I am glad you had time with your precious girl, and not surprised you are feeling a bit bereft now.
And how I love that photo. Serenity. Beauty.
What a beautiful view! I can see why you wanted to stop and take pictures. There is a lot of color in your winter, our trees are bare and it's pretty dull. There's still color out there, but you have to look hard! I've enjoyed sharing Scene & Story with you!
Beautiful photo! It would be nice to see more of this beautiful scenery and landscape.
Wow, that is one beautiful view!!
It's a beautiful spot. I much prefer side and back roads to main highways -- and look what one can discover!
What an amazing blue ribbon threading its way through the beautiful landscape. I'm so glad you picked this drive and this photo to share with us.
This is a beautiful view from your drive - and I think your happiness during this drive shows, also. I like the idea of a series of photos from a favorite drive - I bet your drive through Napa would be fantastic!
Beautiful view.. Hope you are coming back to normal life .. Love and hugs..
I can see why you would choose such a lovely scene for our monthly get-together. The blue of the water is just gorgeous against the vegetation. It has been really nice sharing our monthly stories with everyone who participates. I hope that we shall still continue to visit each other in the coming year.
There is much beauty to see in our northern California. I'm glad that you stop, get out of your car, and enjoy the loveliness. Davis is a good school, and I have gone to Davis just to visit the town and have lunch there. This is a wonderful photo.
I hope the new year is being kind to you, Carola.

I love the scenery in N CA! I hear you're finally getting some rain - I hope not too much at one time.
So gorgeous!!
I hope you are ok?? We have been watching about the mud slides on tv!!
Big Hugs!
Love the view! The drive sounds wonderful. I have visited Napa, but I am sure you know the roads which are less traveled and the most beautiful places. I haven't been able to participate in every Scene and Story, but I will miss it too.
