Update: This picture is taken from the Statue of Liberty in New York. People are lining up to get into the statue and climb up to enjoy the view.

If it's where I think it is, we visited there about 20 years ago also and i stood shivering in the freezing cold like those below. but it was worth it to climb inside the Statue of Liberty, if that's where this is.

Interesting exercise! The visitor from Northern Ireland being the one to know where it was. I hadn't a clue, my only visit to the States was to LA for a few hours in transit. Great shot, though. The people make a colourful image of a crooked fence from that distance.

Wow, excellent photo! I wouldn't have known where it was. I have never been to the Statue of Liberty.
I'm really "late" to the party so I was able to read the update and didn't have to guess. I knew it had to be some place "touristy" because of the crowd. It's a great photo.
