Hoo Hoo-Hoo

"What is this?" you may ask.
Why does she post a photo that is
unfocused
unclear
and I don't really see anything?

Well,
look again.

This is what we discovered
on our walk around the lake,
my friend Jo and I.

High up in a eucalyptus tree
only showing his ears
that are so telling

a Great Horned Owl.

The highlight of my day.

How fabulous for you, it would have made my day too. I love owls, we have just one native owl in NZ, a small one called ruru or morepork as this is it;s call 'morepork, morepork' ;-)

Wow - I have never gotten that close! I hear them all the time, but they are so elusive and disappear during the day. Lucky find!!

What a great catch! Whether or not it's a technically amazing shot is irrelevant to the fact that you captured it. :)
