Inspiration Avenue has challenged us with the theme "Shine". Immediately "Shoot for the stars and shine" shot (!) in my head and stuck. So I started to work - I thought about stars that sparkle in the dark and hands that reach out. In addition, I finally saw a chance to try out black gesso for the first time. So I started to work.
I must admit, I'm not really happy with this. I actually had my doubt to even post it here - but then I thought about my word of the year (authentic) and told myself - well, it's me, and sometimes my creations are not to my liking. Perhaps one day I'll find what's missing in this piece. On the other hand, perhaps I just leave it this way. It's a page in my freshly started art journal, so why not just leave it.
Here it is in all its imperfection:
Honestly, it reminds me of some school work... oh well. But this is happening in my studio right now.
I'm linking this to JRU studio for Sneak Peek Friday and Roban Studio's Art Walk Friday as well as Creative Every Day.

WOYWW
Hello WOYWWers, how are you? I'm in the midst of bloghopping around the world with One World One Heart, and if you haven't heard about it check it out. And if you want to win one of my giveaways please go over here.
So, this is on my table today:
Finally I've started an art journal - sort of. I just dived in and created this page after I had walked through my yard and found many tulips and daffodils peeking their heads out of the soil. It feels like spring over here whereas the Midwest is drowning under heaps of snow. Really weird. But it made me happy and motivated me to create this page without much thinking.
My Valentine's class last Thursday went very well, I had a few new participants which is always nice (although I like my "fanclub"). Here are the cards and tags we made:
That's all from me this week. If you want to see more messy or tidy desks around the world, please hop over to Julia's Stamping Ground and check out the list! Enjoy the ride!
