Photo of the week
As you know, I love to photograph fences. Fences are even more interesting if flowers are spilling over or between them. When I walked around the neighborhood some time this week I noticed how many fences there are with an abundance of roses. The roses seem to have turned up overnight - the gardens are exploding with all colors of roses and their lovely scent.
On the way to our little neighborhood grocery store I saw these -
- and when I took a different route back I saw even more -
Okay, this last one is not a fence, but I thought I let this ladder count as a special fence :-)
There were white roses spilling over high wooden fences -
- and some roses were already past their prime!
Actually, roses aren't my favorite flowers. But I do love the romantic feeling they seem to ooze out, although with thorns! Their scent is so lovely, I can hardly resist. And they make wonderful photo motifs!

GORGEOUS roses...and fences and ladders, Carola. When we lived in Pasadena for 5 years, we inherited 60+-yr-old rose bushes in the front yard. Bill and I both learned how to prune them properly. They're not my favorite flower either but your images of them are hard to beat!
Hello Carola, Oh how I love roses and your photos are stunning and glorious...It is difficult to pick a favorite they are all so very lovely.. My favorite rose I think is Graham Thomas.. It is a yellow rose. Thanks for sharing your lovely photos.. Hugs Judy

The first and third capture are my absolute favorites Carola! I too adore roses, but right now my favorite is Lilac while they are in season!

Gorgeous pictures! Truly love them all! My favorite flower is the flower from the Daphine bush! The smell is heavenly for such a small flower. I will have to take pictures when mine blooms ;o) Take Care ;o)
