August Break #16 - Lizard

I found this little guy soaking up the sun in one of our State Parks during a hike with my friend J. He wasn't shy at all and kept perfectly still so I could take his picture. He didn't even blink and wouldn't move after I was done. I think he was so happy about the sun that he just didn't care about these weird two-legged creatures who called him funny names like "cutie" and "sweetie". Humans!

They usually are so fast, too fast for me :-) I like the color tones and textures.

Carola, it is so rare to get one to "pose" for you like that!! Not my favorite creatures, but this guy is kinda cute. I had the same thing with some butterflies at the Rogue River. Usually they are so flighty, but they just sat there and posed for me!! You never know.

Ich würde mich auch gerne mal wieder in die Sonne legen und Wärme tanken.... der deutsche Sommer meint es dieses gar nicht gut mit uns. Seufz.

He was posing because he is vain. You can see it on his face!

Wonderful textures to photograph here...Looks like he's sitting on a crater!

Nothing like a little sun tan. Nice shot.
