Barn Fence

Of course the old weathered barn that I showed you last time has a fence as well - actually, quite a collection of fences. Needless to say that the fences looked so much better maintained than the barn. I guess they are meant to keep anybody OUT.

Okay, this fence post is not quite upright anymore, and it looks a bit weathered as well. This certainly fits this old barn more than the fence in the top picture. Here's a detail of the old barbed wire:

Behind the barn runs a creek. Well, "runs" might not be the correct word since there is no water at all - the drought has just left a very dry creek bed. But there still is a little bridge over the creek, and it has a little chain fence by the side.

This is what the drought looks like in California right now - just sad.

Despite the old ruined barn - this is a good fence and therefore deserves a link up to Theresa's blog!

You do have some good fences here ... I especially like the chain fence on the little dry creek bed. So sorry about your drought ... I thought I heard somewhere that you were expecting rain, but I know, it will take a long time to replenish yur water table. Sure hope it happens soon ...

Sad about the drought there.
We've had little rain but did get some this week for which we are grateful.
Loved your fence shots, especially the one with the red chain. Also enjoyed the close-up details and that old barn, it has character.

Really like these photos - and the clarity is amazing. It certainly looks a little drier than the UK - can we export some rain to you? Thanks for popping over to my blog - hope you visit again.

We here in South Texas have been dealing with a 5 year drought, so I can understand your state's dire need for rain.

You always have such great images and wonderful perspectives in your photography skills!!

Both the barn and the fence look like they need a bit of TLC!

Nice pictures.

Great shots of this old country barn. Love to see places like this. It is rather close to that creek, which I'll bet can get really high when the rains come.
