The last rain was almost a week ago, and since the day before yesterday it has significantly warmed up. Today we're expecting temperatures in the upper 80's. Hopes for more rain are quickly vanishing.
So how much longer will it be green like this? How much longer will we enjoy the sight of lush green hills?
I'm afraid those days are numbered. In some places I already see brown spots in the meadows, a sure sign that very soon we will have our "golden" (aka brown) hills back. You can guess what our "Golden State" is named for... gold? What gold?
At least we still have fences. Not even the drought can take them away.
And that's why I'm linking to Theresa's Good Fences at the Run-A-Round-Ranch.

Carola, good fences for sure, and I hope things stay green for a while. We have those drought times here in Texas as well.
Great images of fences but mostly, what a lovely place to roam free! Beautiful out there.
lovely views and I hope you get more rain soon.......
lovely scenes, although i know you're sad to see the green starting to fade, already. our part of texas has had a wetter-than-normal spring for the first time in years, and i know how much that helps the ranchers - well, anyone with livestock or gardens or crops of any kind.
Green as far as the eye can see ... fabulous.
Typical Spring here (UK) .. chilly and the constant threat of showers!
I like the close-up of the barbed wire
those green hills are amazing and beautiful.. hope they hang on for you.. i like that tiny shed church and it looks like one of the tenants tried to kick their way out of the fence. beautiful shot.
Good variety of fences.
New follower. GREAT work. You are really talented. :)
It is so nice so see everything green once again.. Lovely shots of your meadow and hills. Great fence shots. Enjoy your Day!
Beautiful green countryside. The thought that all the green will turn brown due to lack of water is rather sad. The fences are lovely and I love the second from last photo.
Wonderful photo contributions for good fences linkup. I also love the lavender in your previous post.
The countryside there is lush and green. I'm sorry you aren't getting the needed rains. Those last 2 shots were just wonderful.
I especially love to visit CA at this time of year when the hills are still green. At least when the grasses turn brown, you'll still have your gardens!
Enjoy the green, my friend. Here in Tucson, summer started today with the first day over 90 degrees and warmer temperatures in the forecast.
Nice fences, doing their job!! We are beautifully green at the jersey shore and the temperatures have been cool, only 50 today. It has not rained in forever, so soon we will be needing it soon, especially if it warms up!!
Hi Carola, these are very pretty photos, especially with all the green, so yes I also hope you have that green for a while longer. I also like your fence photos. You have made that old barbed wire look like a work of art in the last photo. Have a great weekend.
Hi Carola, Wonderful photos for linking up with Good Fences and yet my favorite in this post is the solitary tree on a hill in pic #3. Awesome composition and that shadow ... wow! Thanks for sharing your photography and your kind comments on mine. Have a great weekend.
Hello Carola,
Love your pictures! The little chapel is lovely!
Your header's photo is gorgeous too.
Etsy shop is very nice.
Thanks for your visit and nice comment. :)
Truly beautiful images!!!
Nice and green here in south Texas too but we remember summers in the past. Hot and dry and praying for rain.
