One of the October traditions we have adopted since living in the States is a visit to the pumpkin patch. I had thought that Kaefer might be a bit too old for that, but no - she came with us and had a wonderful time at the dairy farm that we discovered this fall, being like a little kid again.
It was a very low key pumpkin patch compared to some others which offer a wide variety of activities to families. This one had a few animals (goats and cows) that you could visit and pet, a jumpy house and a "sandbox" filled with organic wheat which seemed to be the biggest attraction. Beside the field of pumpkins of course.
This pumpkin patch was also different since it not only offered the typical jack-o-lantern pumpkins, but all kinds of different pumpkins as well. They were grown right there and most of them were still on the vine.
This toddler was irresistibly cute!!
And as you can see, this includes my own "little" girl.
Did I mention that she was like a little kid again?

What about you? Do you visit a pumpkin patch in October?
I am linking up to Mandarin Orange Monday.

Great Orange!
A really happy, colourful post. I love the pics...especially the first, third and fourth. Thanks for sharing on MoM#65:)
What wonderful photos! We don't tend to have pumpkin patches like that here. We have pick your own strawberries etc in the summer, but nothing else. What gorgeous colour and wonderful texture too. Kaefer looks so happy. She is so beautiful - she must have some good muscles in those arms too!!
How fun! What a nice day you must have had. I think this is a wonderful tradition, and from all appearances Kaefer definitely isn't too old to enjoy it.
You're never too old to visit a pumpkin patch -- it just too much fun! I love all these different views of pumpkins and their cousins. It looks like you had a beautiful day!

FABULOUS, Carola. I have had many a trip to pumpkin patches in past years but, sadly, not this year...so you have done it for me with your WONderful images. I still have such fond memories of watching grandson Nicholas picking out his pumpkin for carving. It's a family tradition that still gives us happy memories...even though we didn't make time to do it this year. I guess we can't always do everything?!
Fabulous photos! Picking pumpkins is a wonderful tradition to start for each Fall. The colors and shapes are also so interesting. It's a fun day out for the family. Thank you so much for sharing.
I was out looking for some places decorated for Halloween yesterday. Should have visited a pumpkin patch. Your post made up for what I missed.

Those are truly wonderful photos, from the pumpkins, unique points of view, and the wonderful people together with the pumpkins. I love your tradition!
Many farmers seel pumpkins in my area and they come in all colors and shapes. They make for awesome decorations!
Phantastische Fotos von all den verschiedenen Kürbissen. Die Details, die Du aufgenommen hast, finde ich ebenfalls sehr sehenswert. Wundervoll.
Viele Grüße Synnöve

Part of our family reunion in Nevada was held at a ranch that had a pumpkin patch, corn maze, hayrides.... the whole 9 yards! Normally we don't do that, so it was very fun! Lovely images of both the pumpkins and your beautiful girl!!
