What's on my desk - WOYWW

After I've missed WOYWW last week - it was just too busy - I'm back today and I'm happy to show you  what my desk looks like this week.

So what I'm doing here is trying to organize my unmounted rubber stamps that I bought over the years. I store them on clear plastic in a fat binder, but the fact is that I never really know which images I have. I finally decided to stamp each and every unmounted stamp on paper and store those in the same binder, right at the beginning. Thus, I can just quickly leaf through those pages and see whether there's actually an image I could use for a certain project. I hope that this will help me to use those stamps more, because there are some really nice ones and it would be a shame if they would fade away in a fat old binder!

You want to see what other work places around the world look like? Then hop over to Julia at Stamping Ground and you'll find a huge list of other crafty people. Enjoy!

Today, I'm also guest posting at Inspiration Studio about my daily practice - check it out if you want!

Hi Carola,
You really are organised with those stamps. I love the build up of inks on the paper underneath and it will make a great background! I spotted that Yosemite mug on your next post.... you visited Alfriston... well I've been to Yosemite!!! Fantastic place and I want to return for a longer stay but in the Wawona Lodge, if ever I can afford it!
Thanks for stopping by my desk,
JoZarty x

Well, I can hardly believe it! I did exactly that this week (I did get a bit bored stamping them by the end!) and my friend came round to stamp some images and just flipped through the book to see what she wanted which made it all worth while :)

Well done you. I too have just organised all my stamps but they are thankfully all mounted, or I would have forgotten most of them by now ;-)
I see we have Golden paints in common too ...

you do have some wonderful stamps so i'm sure it will be worth the time you've spent organizing if it makes you use them more. i'm hoping you get your card soon.

I think what you are doing with your stamps is a very sensible idea...I love all your pots of 'Golden' products!!!

That looks like a busy desk! Your stamp organisation sounds like a great idea - I should really do something like that too.

Gah Carola - you're going over to the more organised side! I must say I don't catalogue...despite my appalling and getting worse memory, I have never once forgotten a stamp image in my collection. Do not ask how, I don't know!
Was really inspired by your last guest post and took some quite candid shots of me and Miss Dunnit lying on the bed the other day - will show a scrapbook page when done. Don't hold your breath - but big thanks for the prompt to record something that I love and know will come to an end eventually!

Great idea to catalogue your stamps. I keep meaning to do the same. Sorry I'm so late calling. Have a great Sunday. Gez.xx

You have a wonderful daily practice. Love it all except the soy milk. Can't appreciate that stuff yet, even though I'm a vegetarian! Did you think I had forgotten you this week? I had intended to visit anyone who left a comment, then I got confused, so decided to go through the list anyway (grin). You can see how well my strategy worked by how long it took me to get here! I like your various stamps. I don't have enough to do that. Mine would be a mini book! However, if I get a few more, I might just try your brilliant storage solution. (#1)

Great idea organizing your stamps in that way. I'm so late getting round all the desks we get to start it all over again tomorrow!
