A Gift From the Garden

A few days ago my friend brought me some branches of this beautiful plant from her garden. It's an ornamental oregano. You can put it in a vase without any water - yes, you read that right - and it will dry while remaining exactly the same way. Easy peasy.

I love these kinds of gifts. They are free, they're beautiful, personal, thoughtful and most of all, they come from the heart. Just thinking that my friend stepped outside, garden scissors in her hand, and snipped off these pretty twigs because she just knew how much I'd like them makes me feel all warm and cozy inside.

It's not only a gift from the garden, it's also a beautiful symbol of a wonderful friendship.

Amazing photo! The red pitcher in back is fantastic. The friend with the oregano (It's "Kent Beauty") feels all cozy and warm inside too! And she got a lovely lunch and about 35 pounds of plums -- now in jam -- out of the deal.
Thanks.

How special! Never heard of it - I'm wondering if it smells like oregano?? Oh, thanks so much for your comments yesterday. It really means a lot.

That is just so beautiful Carola-the red and the sage green. Oregano to go into the spaghetti sauce...yummy!! Also...you have been tagged!! The questions are at the end of my long post...whenever you get the chance. I will stop by early next week...I am taking the weekend off computers!!

I love that, too. I think of posting kind of the same way... sharing kinds words among friends. A nice group of supportive women here.

You are so lucky...it is beautiful. A friend brought me a plant of it in a pot and I love it. Here in the garden it acts like a perennial: dying back in the winter and coming out in the spring. Such a nice plant. (-:
