Beach Finds

I love to go to our beaches, and recently we spent some time at a beach we had never been before. It's a good beach to go to with small children since the edge is not very deep as at many other beaches here and the waves are not quite as high. It also means that you can walk at the edge of the water without always looking for higher ground when the big waves crash onshore.

Walking along the beach I usually look for treasures - shells, driftwood, small rocks. There are many things to find.

Broken sanddollars,

empty crabs and feathers - the seagulls probably had a feast here!

There are sanddollars buried in the sand

and also tiny, perfect sanddollars.

The seagulls leave their little footprints everywhere.

And sometimes you can also find huge seastars made out of sand.

These are my Friday Finds for this week.

Great beach finds -- I don't often see sand dollars on the No Coast beaches. I love your shot with the bird feet prints. Happy Weekend!

I do need to go back to the sea. It has been way too long.
And the pull of the ocean is getting stronger.

There is nothing better than walking on the beach searching for treasures, and you certainly did find some. Love the perspective of your top image, you must have been very close to the ground to get that shot. Have a great weekend!

Such great finds on the beach. I get so excited when I find a piece of beach glass. We don't see sand dollars very often. However, just south, nearer to Charleston, there are barrier islands that have lots and lots of them.

What lovely photos and what a splendid beach. It makes for a much more interesting walk when you can do a spot of beach-combing along the way, and what a lot of treasures you have waiting to be discovered. Magical! All the best, Bonny

A wonderful beach and beautiful photos, Carola! Love how you captured the sun glinting off the wet pebbles. Beautiful!

Oh I love that too! Wonderful beach pictures and treasure collection (like you, I collect them only on photos these days). I would frame the perfect sand dollar one with those shiny pebbles!
