With these much cooler temperatures, it's time for some hot chocolate again!

Not just hot chocolate of course - with cream on top (and marshmallows for the Geek and Kaefer) and a little cocoa powder sprinkled over it.

We usually have our hot chocolate in the late afternoon, when everybody is at home. Some days we have it in the evening, sometime after dinner. However, it always has this cozy feeling about it.

I honestly can't think of anything with more comfort on a winter day than a mug of hot chocolate.

What about you? Do you like hot chocolate? And how do you drink it? With whipped cream, marshmallows, some spices, cinnamon? Please tell me.

Hi Carola. I love hot coco and usually mine is with cinnamon. There are times I do whip it up a bit with of course, whipping cream. When I'm in a spicy mood, I sprinkle a touch of cayenne pepper over it as I would cinnamon. That really hits the spot. Have a great week. Great photos.
I love hot chocolate and I don't drink enough of it. The last I had was sinfully rich "drinking chocolate" which was like drinking a melted candy bar. I think in the evening would be best, cold nights with a good book (and cookie) or cool summer sunsets on the porch in Portland, Or.
Thanks for you comments on my blog. I like having the pressure off for the gratitude list. Think I'll put hot chocolate on the one for this week.
Umm, could almost taste the chocolate...lovely shot.
No cream, no marshmallows (though the skinny one likes a marshmallow or six). Cinnamon and vanilla. Very, very occasionally, a slug of Amoretto is added. And it is indeed one of the most comfoting drinks I know.
Yum that looks wonderful!!
I don't very often drink hot chocolate but we do all as a family tradition have one on bonfire night every year with whipped cream and marshmallows, it's one of the few traditions we have as a family and one I love :)
That looks delicious when the weather is cool!
Hello Carola, I hope your Spring rains come. I will be happy to hear them come too. I love Hot Coco especially the kind they create at Easter Markets in Germany. Hugs Judy
Renate
Hmmmm, I like hot chocolate...just seldom drink it. I like chai tea with a little skim milk and sweetened just a bit.
Hope you get the rain you need!
That sounds so good that I'm going to make some right now! Your photos are delicious.
I want a hot chocolate right now, please ;o) I would love one with whip cream and marshmallows ;o) Actually, I will take one, anyway ;o) LOL!
The lighting is beautiful in your third photo down! Looks so tempting! Oh, BTW...marshmallows are a must!
Oh Carola
It's Summer here and while I don't want it to end - it's inevitable that Autumn is about to appear....
but with cosy afternoons sipping yummy hot chocolate like yours it will have some compensations!
Love your last image.
Sending you some Summer sunbeams from my corner of the world!

I love hot chocolate. I like it with whipped creme but most of all I love Mexican Hot Chocolate.
It's still cold here after our recent snowfall, and this mug of cocoa looks perfect, Carola ... may just have to get me a cup as well!! I love the the textures you've used here, and the tones are beautiful ... so warm! I'm visiting from Kim's site. Have a wonderful weekend! Now off to get that mug o' cocoa!! :)
Das sieht total lecker aus und auch Deine Bearbeitung mit den Texturen gefällt mir sehr sehr gut. Wunderschön.
Viele Grüße Synnöve
I absolutely LOVE hot chocolate, Carola, even though I don't drink it that often. What I like the most is mixing it with coffe, which I guess means it's mocha. Whippeed cream is definitely nice with cocoa sprinkled on top. :) And I love your images with their textures.
