Short Update

Hello everybody, this is just a short update to let you know that my knee surgery went well and I'm back home recovering. The first couple days were very painful and I was thankful that my doctor had prescribed "happy pills", but by now I need them much less and hope to discontinue them soon. I am able to hobble around and can even get up and down the stairs (it takes a while, though). My neighbor - the owner of the cat who has taken up residence in my garden - gave me her cadillac of a walker and that was a big help during the first two days. But now I can hobble without help, albeit rather clumsily. It will get better eventually. The hospital staff before and after surgery were wonderful, nice and kind, and I felt very well taken care of. Now my husband is taking care of me and he is simply wonderful - a true keeper!

My sweet daughter sent me the card at the top, it says "Get well" ("Gute Besserung") and I was supposed to find all the items along the edges of the card in the picture. As you can see, a teacup is included and that is my ticket to Bleubeard and Elizabeth's T Tuesday. Happy T day to all of you!

  1. I'm glad the surgery went well, and that the pain is a lot less. It sounds like you are recovering well. It is amazing what the body can do, isn't it? And I love that card from your daughter. The nurse cow is the cutest. Take care and have a great T day. hugs-Erika

  5. I enjoyed the language lesson, and found all the hidden items on the card while learning a few new German words. Great to hear that you are on the mend, and will soon be more mobile.

  9. So sorry this has been a disaster from the start. I was in the process of leaving a comment when my friend Joseph came by. Three hours later, we went to eat and of course, when I got home, I immediately fell asleep.

I'm glad your surgery went well, Carola. Nice you are getting stronger every day and needing fewer and fewer happy pills.

What a charming card Kaefer sent. It was easy to find the mug. I hope to find more when I have time.

Thanks for the update on your surgery and your card from Kaefer for T this Tuesday. Please gain strength every day!!

  10. Glad that all went well, Carola, and that you are slowly becoming more mobile. In the meantime enjoy being pampered and taken care of. I found all the items on the card except for the bread. I will have to look again later - or maybe you already ate it! Best wishes for a full recovery - and quickly too! Hugs - David

  11. I love "find the hidden pictures" or things that re different from one to another. This would be my kind of card and it's a great card for anyone who is laid up!

I'm glad to hear that after the initial couple of days that things are progressing well and you're walking about (OK, hobbling! But it beats not hobbling!). Keep on getting well and all wishes for full and rapid healing.

  12. Thanks Carola for the update on your surgery and now recovery. Several friends have had knee surgery, a couple have undergone the procedure twice. And, like yourself, they said the first few days were the worst. Hope all continues to go well for you and that you will soon be even more mobile.

  15. Im so glad you’re on the mend.
What a fantastic card! I love that sort of thing and I immediately started to look for the items. I got them all fairly quickly, but the bread eluded me. In the end the dog was eating it, haha.
    Happy T-Day,
    Lisca
