Hello my friends! I hope you had a wonderful holiday season and a great start into the new year. Have you set any goals, resolutions etc. for 2015? I have stopped doing that years ago because they usually vanish by the middle of February. If I want a clean new start, any day in the year is good for that. However, I do hope and wish that 2015 will be a creative year for us with lots of joy and laughter.

Over Christmas we spent a week in the American Southwest - Arizona and Utah. It's an area we have visited often and know quite well. However, there are always new places to discover and explore, and while we visited "old" beloved places, we had lots of opportunity to discover other areas as well. We love the American Southwest, it is full of inspiration and wildness, vast "emptiness" and amazing light and colors.

There was snow and it was pretty cold. However, the snow and the red rock were a lovely contrast. I especially loved the snow covered plants and leaves - the resilience of nature! While hiking the Fiery Furnace in Arches National Park I took pictures of these leaves and ground shrubs.

I enjoyed reading about your winter trip to the southwest, and hiking to see such beautiful nature! I love the last photo, pale leaves, snow and so delicate. Beautiful! Happy New Year to you!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos Carola. I love how snow settles on plants. No resolutions for me either. I set goals throughout the year when I am ready. It is definitely easier to accomplish them that way.
ReplyDeleteJust beautiful. No resolutions here either. Change will happen when the time is right.
ReplyDeleteHallo Carola, Deine Fotos sind wunderschön, ich liebe solche Schneefotos mit Farbe :)

The snow is beautiful! We visited Arizona a few years ago at Christmas, I love the red rocks. Instead of a resolution this year I am thinking about 'one word', the problem is I am still thinking. :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shots! The leaves are lovely!
ReplyDeleteCarola, these are awesome photos of the snow on these items. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful snow covered plants.....we had LOTS of snow last week but luckily it is almost all melted now. Happy New Year to you and yours!
