My First Giveaway: A Companion for 2011

The idea has been going around my head for quite some time, but only in December I finally knew what to offer. I wanted to say thank you for all your lovely comments and that you come back regularly to my blog... so I was thinking of a giveaway, and of course it had to be something with my photography - and since this is the start of a new year, why not choosing a calendar?

I made a few calendars as Christmas presents - and one as my first giveaway (or "blog candy" as I so often read on other blogs, a name I love, makes me think of chocolate). Either way - giveaway or blog candy, this calendar is all about Yosemite, a national park I love with all my heart and I visit every year. Yosemite is one of the most divine places I know and I never tire of it. I especially love it in the winter when there are almost no crowds and quite some snow. It wasn't a stretch for me to come up with the idea of making a Yosemite calendar.

It is a 12-month calendar, one full-size photo for each month. The picture on top is one of the photos, and here is a sample page:

So, how can you get into the drawing? It's pretty easy.

- Just leave a comment to this post and you have chance #1 to win.

- Chance #2: Tell about the giveaway on Facebook, preferably with a direct link to this post. Leave a comment about this.

- Chance #3: Tell about it on your blog and link to this post, then leave a comment.

If you do all three chances you'd leave three separate comments to this post. This giveaway is for everyone, no matter where you live.

On Sunday, January 9th 2011, my daughter will pick a random number and the comment that matches that number is the lucky winner. Please make sure that I can contact you!

Good luck!!

  22. What a wonderful idea to make a calender of your photographs, I never thought of doing this. I really love the two photos from the calender you show here, your national parks are amazing as is your photography.
I don't need to be included in your giveaway as the postage to NZ would be too high but thank you for the offer.

  25. Carola ~ I hope your holiday away from blogging was restful? I gather from your post, it was! I loved my "German Angel"... she's hanging out on my fireplace mantel with my other angels! Thank you so very much!!!
Our family has camped in Yosemite since our girls were babies... so having a chance to hang a calendar of pictures that aren't photos from someone who has passed (Ansel Adams) would be a treat! I will be posting on Facebook as I have several camping friends who don't blog & plan to post a link to your site from my blog...
BTW - WEEKWORD is SIMPLICITY... let me know if you can participate??

  31. Ohh, I definitely want to enter this contest. We use to drive up to Yosemite several times a year. It was one of our favorite places to visit. The most memorable visit was one late May day when it started unexpectedly snowing these huge gorgeous snowflakes. I'll never forget how beautiful it was. I'll be back to post when I get a change to do a Facebook shout out and blog entry about the giveaway!! Great idea

  33. WOW, beautiful pictures Carola. As it happens I did not get a calendar yet. It's a joke in our family that everyone gets a calendar for Christmas. I thought that would through for a loop and only my husband received a calendar. One for his desk at work. A funny thing happen; they all were wondering where their calendar were. Families are a funny beast. See ya soon.

  34. I had this huge comment and it disappeared. I guess David to help the old mom. I'd love to hang this amazing calendar up in my home. You take beautiful pictures. I didn't receive a 2011 Calendar for Christmas. It's been a running joke in our family that David always gets everyone a calendar for Christmas. I started this when he was a baby. This last Christmas we thought that we'd through everyone for a loop; Dad was the only one to get a calendar and it was one for his desk at work. The funny thing was they were all wondering where their calendars were. Funny creatures, families. See ya soon.
