Sometime overnight in the last week after Thursday, this street art appeared on the wall of the Masonic Lodge in Windsor, CA. No one knows where it came from and exactly when. All we know that it wasn't there before Thursday.
But there is one dominant question - is this a real Banksy? No one so far has answered this. It does look like art à la Banksy, however, it can be completely fake as well. After all, it's easy to purchase stencils like this and a spray can and off you go.
Does it really matter? I sure don't care. I like this little girl with her heart shaped balloon and the brown rainboots, and her sweet face is my contribution to Nicole's Friday Face Off.

It is lovely - and a fine contribution to Friday Face Off - no matter who created it.
So gut gemacht, selbst wenn es ein Fake ist, ist es doch ein Kompliment an den Künstler - und einfach ein fröhliches, süßes Bild.
Faux or real? I'm like you. Who cares. It's definitely adorable and Banksy-esk!
This is such a beautiful inspiring mural. A lot of room to ponder
Looks like a Banksy.
Happy Friday Carola.
Much💜love
It certainly beats the mindless graffiti one sees so often, and there is a simplicity and attractiveness about it. It will be interesting to see if more such street art appears and perhaps in time you will learn the name of the artist. Hugs from Ontario, Carola.
It's lovely whoever made it! Have a great Friday, hugs, Valerie
I'm with you about not really mattering if it is a BAnksy or not. But the mystery is such fun. Happy Friday and weekend Carola. Hugs-Erika
My first thought on seeing it was "stencil" but it could be a real Banksy.
Real or not I love the mystery of this art. Thank you for sharing this for FFO. It brings a smile to my face. Have a great day today.
It does look like a real Banksy
This is my favorite Banksy ~ Have canvas print of it ~ Xo

Nope. Doesn't matter. Except to Banksy, maybe. It delights. That's what matters.
Fake or real ... it is lovely.
All the best Jan
Banksy or not, it is awesome. Love the reflection in the puddle as well. Great catch, Carola ...

I love Banksy and this is one of my favorite images. Whatever it is, I love it!
The original girl with a balloon by Banksy (dated 2002) is reproduced widely and easily available. Would the elusive graffitist come to California and make a new copy of this work? Who knows? No one has a clue how Banksy thinks. But making a copy would be very easy.

Real or not, I love it 🧡🧡🧡
Hugs and blessings, Carola!
Sweet , though not the original. The girl releasing the red balloon was Bansky's most famous graffity work!
