The Harbor Fence
While traveling along the Oregon Coast Highway we came to a small town - a village really - called Garibaldi. Rather an unusual name that I would expect in Italy but not necessarily in the Pacific Northwest.
Garibaldi has a rather big port for such a small place and like in any good harbor there was a seafood place we visited for a very late lunch. The food was delicious and afterward we walked around a bit. That's when I saw this fence.
I liked all the buoys attached to it or hanging from the overhang of the building right next to it.
It was quite colorful, and there different shapes as well. I really liked this sign:
Oh, and also this buoy!
I'm linking up with Theresa's Good Fences - always a great place to go to!
I love those colorful buoys and also the warning about the butts! Why do people throw them down as if they aren't litter?
ReplyDeleteLooks like a really interesting spot!
ReplyDeletelove all the floats tied to the fence! cute signage, too. :)
ReplyDeleteI really like the colourful buoys along this fence in your photos. Harbours are great with their boats and fishing huts and wharves. I hope you're having an enjoyable summer. It's going fast!
ReplyDeleteHello, I just love that sign. I wish people would stop throwing their cigarettes out! And I love the bouys on the fences, great find! Have a happy day!
ReplyDeletethat fence is well decoated with buoys
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, LOVE and appreciate that NO CIGARETTE BUTTS in the water" sign.
ReplyDeleteAnd I must admit, this is a perfect way to spend my day...viewing your fantastic images of the harbor. No place better on this earth in my opinion.
I've been to Garibaldi, it's a fun and quaint town. Your shots of the bouys on the fence are fun and colorful. That was quite a sign.
ReplyDeleteWas in Eugene Or many years ago, but never saw anything like this.
ReplyDeleteWonderful. Love the sign, the fence and the buoys.
ReplyDeleteVery interesing place and shots! Have a good day! Catherine
ReplyDeleteWhat a charming place to have lunch and enjoy the atmosphere!
ReplyDeleteCarola, in Maine the different colored bouys indicate a particular lobster boat license. That definitely means there are lots of colors and designs.
ReplyDeleteGreat captures of these buoys! Great colors!
ReplyDeleteWow that's the real deal! Love the colorful look and knowing that each piece has a history!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great place for fresh seafood, as long as we take care of the oceans!
ReplyDelete~
The harbor fence is loaded with good photo elements. These are fine shots which show the variety.
ReplyDeleteColourful and full of shapes, the fence was a great find, Carola. Great captures!
ReplyDeleteVery colorful, nice images! Oh buoy!!

These are great fence photos Carola and thank you for adding another town to my 'must visit one day ' list :)
A wonderful post and beautiful photos, Carola! Sounds like you had a great day x
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for sharing this incredible photo! Garibaldi looks so beautiful, especially this buoy fence.
ReplyDeleteI would love to see the Oregon Coast Highway someday. My husband is retiring the beginning of 2016,
I'm putting this on our list of places to see.
