"Owls" is this week's challenge at Inspiration Avenue - well, you would think after my wonderful adventure with the Great Horned Owls this spring I'd have enough photos to participate, right?
Right. I took a photo of Mama Owl - my favorite member of the owl family - and edited it in Photoshop Elements to give her a spooky touch. I actually didn't really do much - blurred the background (there is one of the owlets behind her), turned her eyes red and added some texture ("raised effect" by Shadowhouse Creations) - and here she is!
Just go to Inspiration Avenue to find a lot more of wonderful owls in any artistic way.

W-OWL! now that's one "owlsome" shot! Love it! POP ART MINIS
ReplyDeleteI immediately thought of you when I read the challenge was OWLS this week at IA. I KNEW you would participate and have looked forward to your entry. This is quite impressive, and your additions in PS make it even more "spooky" and fun.
ReplyDeleteWow! I love the effects you gave it. This is a fabulous shot. I hope the owls come back again next year...it was so much fun to see them with you.
ReplyDeleteThis is terrific!! And what a perfect response to the challenge. It's as if it was created with you and your owls in mind!
ReplyDeleteThose eyes make me wonder what this owl is thinking or seeing! Very cool!
ReplyDeleteGreat photo and the word is so powerful it's making her feathers stand straight up! Those eyes got me.

ReplyDeleteMama is adorable. She looks like Pot Plant Owl, who now has chicks. I watch her on Africam 24/7. I love owls. Thanks for visiting my blog. Blessings, Janet
ReplyDeleteShe is an amazing creature, it is wonderful that you get to see her in person, I've never seen an owl in real life, only in photos. You have truly captured her spookyiness with those red eyes! Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving that beautiful comment on my owl post. Xx
ReplyDeleteIf anyone had the accessible "material," Carola, it was certainly YOU. Well done.
