The streets of Cairo offer a feast for the senses:
people screaming, drivers who impatiently honk the horns of their cars, clapping hooves, the calling of the muezzin.
Beautiful people, brilliant colors, activity everywhere.
The smell of food and the taste of it. Dust, heat and dirt.
Utter chaos.
Life
Cairo is the most fascinating city I've ever visited.
These pictures are great. I hope someday to visit Egypt, but the closest I have been so far is Morocco. This is a great interpretation of the word! You are right...a feast of senses.
ReplyDeletethanks for playing!!! I added your name to the list. About the only time I post by Friday is when I have been the person to select the word! So glad you joined us - it's good to see everyone's interpretation of each week's word.
ReplyDeleteWOW! I've never thought about visiting Cairo... were you on a tour? or traveling with someone familiar with that country? what was your favorite food?
It must have been interesting seeing animals, people & other vehicles sharing the road....
Carola, that is certainly a barrage of senses! I love the pictures, especially the top one where there is a man pushing a cart the opposite direction from the traffic surrounding him. What chaos, as you said!
ReplyDeleteSo you walked like an Egyptian? lol What a great experience! I have never been there, just in my dreams! We have lived in England, Germany and Sicily when hubby was in the air force. We did a lot of traveling in Europe, but Sicily is the furthest that direction.
ReplyDeleteI like the sense of movement in these shots.
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures! I especially like the 2nd photo where you can see tiny tiny figures all the way in the distance. All men, too. Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteThanks for taking me to Cairo thru this post. It must have just been amazing. As always, your gift is obvious!
ReplyDeleteHello! Thanks for visiting my blog! By the way, your blog is great! I love all your art work. Your description of Cairo was fantastic too.

ReplyDeleteCarola-I LOVE Cairo!!! Your pics and description are perfect and brought back SO many memories. Tim and I spent about 10 days there right before I became pregnant...the art, the sights, the food, shopping, markets...oh! So fantastic!
