While I visited some blogs today I noticed a photo on Kat's The Kat Eye View of the World, a blog that I read regularly. Kat's photo showed some wooden toy characters, one of them being Pinocchio.
"The Adventures of Pinocchio" by Carlo Collodi - written in 1881 - is a very popular children's book in Germany. Kat's picture reminded me of our visit to Pisa in 2000 when then two-year old Kaefer checked out the little Pinocchio string puppets that were for sale almost everywhere.
how sweet she is... almost a teenager? we have some wooden ornaments that look like these... didn't get them in Pisa; maybe Florence? I don't remember.
ReplyDeleteI checked the blog you mentioned - OH! WOW! I can see why you like it... the pics are amazing - will have to check it out when I have time this week.
I was picked to select the WeekWord (again! I guess the new bloggers didn't realize I've picked the word two other times)... So I hope you will consider participating. The WeekWord is ABUNDANCE... I'm posting it tomorrow, but giving you advance notice.
Pinocchio was/is among one of my favorite childrens' stories. I love the little puppets!!!
ReplyDeleteI love your photo! A perfect companion memory to the one I posted. I love seeing your daughter when she was little, what a precious memory. So glad that I got to see it!
ReplyDeleteYour picture is so sweet. It is a perfect companion to Kat's post.

ReplyDeleteI saw tons of Pinocchio in Rome too. ;)
Wonderful photo! It's also a reminder to me to take even more photos of Nora so I'll have them to look back on in future years.

ReplyDeleteWow, you read Chinese at university!
That's impressive - do come and visit me more often to brush up your Chinese. ;) Likewise, I'll come and see your beautiful photos.

I ♥ your photos!
ReplyDeleteThere is a house (that I covet) near me, and in the window is a Pinocchio just like these. For some reason it makes me want the house even more.
What a sweet picture . . . my sister is now living in Germany for a couple of years. She loves the country, the food and the people. I'd love to visit her, but don't think I can--still, she sends beautiful photos!
