Wishcasting Wednesday

Through Gina's blog "Here and Now" I found Wishcasting Wednesday at Jamie Ridler Studios. Her question for today is "What do you wish for less of?"

I didn't have to think very long.

I wish for less self doubt and less of those negative voices in my head.

This has been my problem for a very long time - probably starting in my youth, and I'm still fighting it. I can see that I am gaining more confidence, but it's still a long way.

  1. Carola, I can totally identify with this. I'm trying hard to learn how to trust that tiny little voice that comes from my center, the soft *quiet* one that whispers "but you *can* do it, let's try..." I haven't paid that voice much attention at all, but I find that as I give her a chance to be heard, she really shines sometimes. :)

As you wish for yourself, I wish for you also.

  2. Me, too! Those darned voices--they really need to shut up.

As Carola wishes for herself, so I wish for her as well.

  3. Hi Carola,
Thanks for your sweet thoughts over my way, so lovely to hear from you and I really appreciate your kind words! Amazing to see your fabulous ikea shelves filled with so many goodies!
self doubt is such a big thing for us isn't it... i really truly have found that writing them down as they pop up and turning any negatives into affirmations for ourselves is a great tool to staying positive and believing in ourselves. You are already shining...keep on shining on! :)

  4. I was once told those negative voices are trying to protect us from being harmed but the voices don't know that sometimes we need that to grow.
As Carola wishes less self doubt and negative voices, so I wish for her too...and so it is!

  7. We all have those little voices of doubt.... we just have to learn to ignore them and congratulate ourselves for all we accomplish. Thanks for your encouraging words on my blog. :)

  8. This is an issue for me, too. In fact, I'm battling it every day as I work toward the fall art/craft fair season.

As Carola wishes for herself, so do I wish for her also!

  9. Loved hearing from you, Carola. I can't believe you spent Christmas Day in Arches. Brrrr! I bet it was memorable though. Did Canyonland today and lost Kristen, 18yr. She thinks she's invincible so you can understand my fright. She was climbing all over Mesa Arch. Turns out she was at the car waiting for me. :O
You tell those negative voices that
I LOVE your blog, art, and getting to know you better, too!

  10. Hmmm... I was just putting a new Powerpoint together on this very subject this morning ("Creative Demons")! And, yes, we all have them! And the first step in dealing with them is to acknowledge their presence. So here you are doing that - and look how many people can relate. Thanks for putting it out there and hopefully by now those demons have been kicked to the curb!!

  11. I would wish to worry less; about real things and imaginary things. I waste so much time and energy concerned about negative things that never even come about.
