As mentioned before, I haven't done anything even faintly related to art. So for Nicole's Sunday in the Art Room I have three older art journal pages to show.
I had covered the two pages with various acrylic inks and then stenciled the flock of birds (Stencil Girl) on top of it . After that I got stuck and left the pages sitting on my worktable for a few days. I had the idea of a "popping flower" in my head, so I penciled a rough flower shape and and covered the rest of the pages with white gesso. The hummingbirds, butterflies and snail were cut from an old Annie's Annuals catalog and glued down. As a finishing touch I added the Drops and Swirls stencil (Stencil Girl). The page turned out quite different from what I had envisioned and of the three shown here it is my least favorite.
This double page started out with leftover paint that I had spread out. It stayed like that for a long time until I added the squares with different leftover paint. Again I didn't know where this would go to until I added some of the dangles of the Swag Borders and Dangles stencil (Stencil Girl). At last I stenciled the Seedhead Silhouettes (Stencil Girl) on top, one of my favorite stencils in my collection. After that I called it done.
This third page spread is my favorite. I had sprayed various Dylusions ink sprays in order to see what they look like. Needless to say, after that the page was sitting for a while until finally inspiration struck again. I had just received a couple of stencils from Stencil Girl (yes, I really like their stencils) - Flock, Queen Anne's Lace and Milk Thistle - and wanted to try them out. I stenciled them on with white acrylic paint. This "try-it-out" page turned out beautifully, at least in my opinion.

The first image I said in a whisper, OMGosh! The next image the whisper went to my low voice and the last image I said right out loud. OMGosh!!!!! These are all so beautiful. I love the bright, bold colors and the whimsy of them. Thank you for sharing with SITAR and have a very nice Sunday.
ReplyDeleteLiebe Carola,

ReplyDeleteThese are great Carola. My favorite is the last one because I like the white stenciled images. They really pop. It looks like you had fun making these. Have a super new week. hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteYou are so creative! You and this whole online artists’ community. Such personalization in the daily tools of life must be very rewarding. Well done, Carola! Many hugs - David
ReplyDeleteReally love the first and the last one! Such nice rainbow-y colours!
ReplyDeleteDas macht Spaß... toll gemacht liebe Carola.
Viola
These are all gorgeous, but the last one is my favorite. I only have three stencils and one was a gifted Stencil Girl. Love how you use yours. Happy slightly late SITAR.
ReplyDeleteVery nice and colorful! Have a nice day.
